Acquired Disabilities & Employment Portal
The objective of this portal is to provide the people of Mississippi with information on resources, research, and other relevant information regarding the potentially disabling effects of Long-Covid and numerous other acquired disabilities. The information provided is intended for use by a broad range of audiences, including people with acquired disabilities, their caregivers, healthcare providers, rehabilitation and medical professionals, as well as employers. The goal is to provide resources that will help people with acquired disabilities be better able to return to work or to stay at work successfully. It includes examples of accommodations that have proven effective in addressing the limitations caused by COVID-19 and other disorders. This information should not be considered as legal advice or in any way a determination as to whether a health condition qualifies as a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Using the Portal Features
Enter a keyword and/or select from the Audience and Resource Type drop-down lists to search the available database. Multiple keywords and filters may be selected. Use the toggle to narrow search results to only those items that contain ALL selected keywords or filters, or broaden search results to find those that contain ANY of the selected keywords or filters.
